A Parkinson’s Podcast with Attitude

Go Fund Me

Many of us receive daily bulletins about the latest Parkinson’s treatment options and….is a cure really at hand? And why am I suddenly experiencing tremors on my left side when they used to appear only on the right? Is it okay to take Pramipexol with Gabapentin?

There’s lots of information via blogs and newsletters about the symptoms of and treatments for this nasty disease. I was after something more personal, even if the person in question happened to be me. So I started my blog chronicling my daily Parkinsonian experience, warts and tremors and leg stiffening and all.

I’ve mastered the blog and now, in the spirit of learning new things in order to keep my Parkinson’s under control, I’m setting my sights on the podcast. I sure hope it goes better than my attempts to learn mahjong (a work in progress after I won’t tell you how many weeks) and canasta (abject failure. Sorry Grandma).

The theme is, like that of my blog, living day to day with an often painful chronic illness, and doing so with “attitude.” I’m the host and natch, the title is Moving and Shaking; the Podcast.

Each episode will speak to a specific issue, and I’ll be interviewing both Parkies and experts (research scientists, physicians, artists, etc.) around that theme. Want to know more about ping pong and boxing as they relate to Parkinson’s? Listen up!

By now you’re asking yourself “This sounds great! How can I help?”

That’s where GoFundMe comes in. You simply visit the site, read a bit more about my plans for the podcast, and if you’re so moved, make a donation. Gifts of all size are welcome.

I’m hoping to launch the podcast in October. Watch for it!
